This map of Aire Street, Knottingley, has been compiled by Paul Dean with additional information submitted by Mr. Ronald Byram who was born there over 80 years ago and it is believed to be an accurate account of the area between approximately 1930-1950.
Aire Street
Travelling up Aire Street from the bottom near to the Cherry Tree pub, up towards the top of the street where it turns left and runs by the side of St. Botolph's Church. From between 1930 to 1950 this is a fairly accurate picture of the area.

- Opposite Margaret Petties butchers was their slaughter house set back from the road, this was at the back of the church and there was a footpath that led to Ferrybridge via the Holes's.
